NEIGHBORHOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

What is it?

The Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) is provided by Beacon Christian Community Health Center through subsidized assistance from the federal government for individuals and families without any medical insurance.  It also provides assistance to individuals who have insurance with high deductibles.

You will be charged one copay at each visit for all the services you receive that day.  This copay is determined based on a sliding fee scale that is based on your earned income.

What does it cover?

Patients enrolled in the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) may access Beacon Christian Community Health Center services, including:

  • Annual checkups and sick visits

  • OB/GYN visits and testing.

  • Vaccines and vaccinations.

  • Blood testing for anemia, cholesterol and diabetes.

  • Hospital visits by staff physicians for BCCHC registered patients at Staten Island University Hospital and Richmond University Medical Center.

  • Prescriptions at Walgreens Pharmacy at markedly-reduced rates.

  • Physician available on-call by phone 24 hours/7 days a week.

  • Certain lab tests and radiology tests ordered will also be provided on a sliding fee basis.

 

COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

What is it?

The Community Assistance Program (CAP) is provided by Beacon Christian Community Health Center for patients without any medical insurance, but who may not qualify based on income. While there is no set visit fee, our billing department will work with you to cover the cost of your visit.

What does it cover?

Patients enrolled in the Community Assistance Program (CAP) have access to health center services, such as:

  • Annual checkups and sick visits.

  • Ob/Gyn visits and testing.

  • Vaccines and vaccinations.

  • In-House blood testing for anemia, cholesterol, and diabetes.

  • Hospital visits for previously registered health center patients by staff physicians at Staten Island University Hospital and Richmond University Medical Center.

  • Affordable prescription medications at Walgreens Pharmacy.

  • Physician available on-call by phone 24 hours/7 days a week.

  • Certain lab tests and radiology tests ordered will also be provided at a reduced fee.

 

PRESUMPTIVE ELIGIBILITY FOR CHILDREN AND WOMEN

Beacon Christian Community Health Center is certified to enroll patients who are pregnant and eligible children to presumptively qualify to enroll in the New York State Medicaid Program.

If you are pregnant or if your child does not have health insurance, please speak to one of our patient eligibility workers.  If you are found to be eligible, the staff will work with you to enroll you in the appropriate program.
